This position involves operating (and personal responsibility for) a cash register, dealing with customers with respect to refunds, layaways, special orders and regular transactions, as well as directing customers to items in the store and answering questions and concerns. Assorted paperwork. Maintaining and ordering cashier supplies. Training all new cashiers and assuring their knowledge of cash register and store procedures. Answering the telephone (three lines) and using the intercom system as well as a system of two-way radios. Working on the store computer to check prices and availability, as well as find SKU’s, change prices and taxation on items. Assisting the other departments with maintaining, stocking, fronting and facing, setting up displays, maintaining and creating end caps and clip strips, making and putting up signs, and making pricing corrections. I was also a key carrier for the operations office.

Student editor for ACC’s journal of written and visual art, Facets. This position involved making the format and layout decisions, editing selected works and working closely with the printer and advisors. Also responsible for organizing, decorating and displaying art and written works chosen for the journal in a poetry and short story reading at the end of each Fall and Winter semester.
