Early Modern Literary Texts Online

Electronic texts from works of the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Obviously these aren't the kind of texts you'll often need but it shows that that web isn't all fluff. Grades 8-Adult 

International Kids'Space

A site where kids can publish their artwork or stories. This site is monitored and tries to only give links to other monitored sites. A fairly safe place on the internet for children. Grades K-8 

Online Books Page

A searchable index of about 12,000 texts available online. Most are text files, some are .pdf or other files but links are provided to download the required reader. Most texts are classical works out of copyright, some are page images of rare books. Grades 8-Adult.

Scholastic Central

The Scholastic Publishing Company home page. A variety of activities and information from Magic School Bus to Electronic Learning magazine. Nice pages, good source of information about Scholastic products. Most other publishing houses have similar pages. Grades 3-Adult

Web Book Publications

A variety of ebooks, some for sale and many for free. A variety of literature, mostly in the public domain, but some more contemporary. Grades 6-Adult.

Young Adult Literature

A directory of sources of information about YA literature on the Web. Many links are currently broken...I hope she fixes them soon! Grades 6-Adult, but primarily aimed at teachers.
