Ben's Guide To U.S. Government for Kids
http://bensguide.gpo.gov/
An introduction to United States government for kids from grades kindergarten through high school. It includes history, documents, descriptions of how the government works and games, all written at grade appropriate levels. A good use of my tax dollars! Grades K-Adult.

Berit's List of Best Children's Sites
http://www.beritsbest.com/
A great source for web sites for children. It has been spun off from Theodore Tugboat but is still maintained by the company which produces the program. It reamians one of the better directories for children. Great place for links! Grades PreK-8

International Kids' Space
http://www.kids-space.org/
A site where kids can publish their artwork or stories. It includes stories and pictures from children around the world. In 2000 it spun off its section for penpals as Kids' Space Connection, http://www.ks-connection.org/. Grades K-6.

KidLink
http://www.kidlink.org/
Kidlink is an international project dedicated to promoting discussion between teenagers of all nations. (As of June 2006 students in 168 nations were participating.) By answering 4 basic questions, a participant is allowed to join the discussion, which is moderated by the Kindlink organization. Grades 5-10.

Kidworld
http://www.bconnex.net/~kidworld
A collection of activities for children including a section to help you find penpals.  A new feature is a collection of Java games. This site includes a few links to other sites but the list appears dated and several links are inoperative. There has apparently been no new content since 2001. Grades 1-8.

Pauly's Playhouse
http://www.paulysplayhouse.com
A collection of interactive games for children 3 and up. More fun than educational but has links to other educational sites. Grades preK-5

Surfing the Net With Kids
http://www.surfnetkids.com/index.html
An index to the newspaper column of the same name, it provides links and reviews to a wide range of subjects of interest to school age children--and me, too! Grades 2-8+.
