NSTA-CMU Mission Statement
The Central Michigan University student chapter of the National Science Teachers Association welcomes all CMU students interested in the teaching and learning of science at the elementary or secondary level. Its purpose is to provide a wealth of ideas to share amongst all its members, to assist in building hands on experiences that could be utilized in a classroom setting, and to help develop problem solving concepts with our peers. Members of the chapter will be exposed to quality professional development opportunities such the Michigan Science Teachers Association conference and regional and national NSTA conferences. Information about upcoming events such as guest speakers, panel discussions, workshops, social gatherings and conferences at both state andnational levels will be addressed in the newsletter. The organization is affiliated with the National Science Teachers Association which offers journals and connections with other science educators.
