Introduction

Congratulations!!! You have just been selected as an advisor to the new country of Independenceland. They need you to help them set up their government. In order to do that you must first learn about the make-up of our government and the jobs and duties involved in running the government successfully. You will keep your findings in a journal and you will create a poster explaining our government to the new country of Independenceland.

1. Explain the role of each of the three branches of government.

2. How are the three branches of government different?

3. Summarize how a bill becomes a law.

4. Describe the role and the make-up of the Supreme Court.

5. Describe the role of the President and Vice President in the Executive branch of the government.

Step 2: In the "Treasure Hunt" section, take the White House tour. Using complete sentences, answer the questions in your journal.
