Mr. Michael Moors teaches elementary instrumental music in the Alpena Public Schools.  Moors is also an active Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association adjudicator.  In addition to teaching and adjudication, he maintained a sizable clarinet studio (currently not active) and is a guest soloist in churches, orchestras, concert bands and schools.  Mr. Moors is also a school clinician, specializing in woodwinds and young bands.  In the summer, he enjoys band directing at Camp Timbers (Herter Music Camp) by West Branch, Michigan.  Moors is currently the principal clarinet in the Alpena Symphony Orchestra as well as the Alpena City Band.   He has a B.M.E. from Northern Michigan University and a M.A. from Central Michigan University. Mr. Moors has 27 years of teaching experience, with the last 26 in the Alpena Public Schools. To compliment his clarinet emphasis, he has taught elementary school, middle school and high school levels. He founded the "SAIL" (Saint Anne's/Immanuel Lutheran) band program in 1987, which offers a band program to the Alpena, Michigan parochial school students. He is a member of Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (M.S.B.O.A.) and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia professional music fraternity. Moors was invited to speak at the Midwestern Conference for vocal and instrumental music. The conference took place at the University of Michigan, January 16, 17, and 18, 1997. The focus of the session was to aid non-clarinetists in developing tone quality and intonation in their clarinet sections. Moors, gave a similar presentation at the "state-wide" Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association clinic for elementary and    junior instrumental music teachers. The clinic was given in Alcona, Michigan, October, 1999.  He also has articles published on the Clarinet Online Resource and had a series of articles in 2002’s Texas Band Journal.  He has been selected for the 2002 edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
