A little about me
Hi my name is Sandy Palmer! I graduated from
Morley Stanwood High School
in 2000 and am currently a junior at
Central
Michigan University. I am a
biology major/
chemistry minor and will
graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. I love
science and can't wait to share my enthusiasm with my students.
I work two jobs to fill in all that extra time that I could be sleeping.
:) Early mornings are spent working in the
Chemistry Stockroom
in the Dow Science Complex and late nights at the
A-Wall Indoor Rock Climbing
Wall in Finch Field House.
I have 4 great roommates, Alli, Amanda, Becky and Patti in addition
to 1 unofficial roommate that we all love, Robin!
Interests
I love to swim! Swimming is by far the greates sport ever, however
Central does not have a swim team or a swim club or even intramural swimming.
Therefore I joined On Belay, the Rock Climbing Club. Since then
rock climbing has become my new passion and I am vice president of the
club. The greatest part of On Belay is the outdoor climbing trips
we take to the
Red River Gorge
in Slade Kentucky. The weekend is full of climbing, hiking, backpacking
and camping. In addition to club trips my friends and I take personal
climbing trips to Kentucky, Wisconsin, Oregon, Utah, Nevada and South Carolina.
The latest adventure took place in Northern Michigan at the Ice Climbing
Festival!
Family
When the food and money run out, mom and dad are the answer! My
parents, Susan and Curtis Palmer live in Big Rapids. My mom
is an English/Business teacher at
Reed City Public High School,
she currently has her hands full with freshman and sophomore English. My
dad is one of the lucky retired guys. He taught math and science at
Reed City Public High School for 31 years and is now on the Morley Stanwood
School Board serving as the Treasurer. I have a "little" sister, Annie,
who claims, I stress claims, to be 2 inches taller than me. Annie a
junior at Morley Stanwood High School and duel enrolled through
Ferris State University. She plays
varsity basketball and runs varsity track. Last spring she made it
all the way to state in the high jump! We were all so proud! :)
