Jane Frank
Ameritech Academy

Jane Frank worked with Ann Arbor Public Schools--Middle School, Gifted and Talented, Educational Computing and Technology Center. She was chosen to be 1999-2000 Technology Using Educator On Loan  for Michigan Department of Education. In 2000, she took an early retirement and is currently working as an Ameritech Technology  Academy Trainer. The Ameritech Academy is a two-day workshop focuses on what "technology integration" means. Lab sessions and team activities make the learning practical and provide direct application for classrooms and school buildings. The first day concludes with a hands-on technology showcase demonstrating the latest technology integration tools, products and services. Opening with a session on "The Secrets of Successful Technology Professional Development," the second day emphasizes helping others in a school to develop in their uses of technology. Again, lab sessions and team activities help to keep the learning enjoyable and practical. The session concludes with strategies to help bring about change and overcome obstacles that limit the proper and most effective use of available technology.
