Making
Tables
To
make a table, click on the table icon.
A
pop-up dialogue box will appear, like the one below.
Try
making a table with one row and three columns.
Change the numbers
of
columns from 2 to 3. Then
click on Insert.
You
will get a table that looks like this.
This table has three cells or three columns.
Images and Text
in a Table
Text, images, and/or
hyperlinks may be placed inside any cell of the table. Place the mouse
in the table cell. Click on
the cell you wish to type or enter an icon.
Your cursor should take the shape of a vertical line.
Then start typing your text or use the image tool to import an icon
into a cell. The
text font and size may be altered. Font styles, such as bold, underline,
italic, color, etc. are altered just as they would be elsewhere in the
document.
See the example below.
Importing
an image
Click on the image tool.
A
dialogue box will appear. Place
your cursor on the line under Image File Name or Location.
Click on, Choose File.
Make sure you are in your zip disk to select an image from your
zip disk.
Reconfiguring
the properties of a table.
Each
Table has dialog box that will allow you to reconfigure your table properties.
Click on a cell in the table.
Place
the mouse in the table cell so that you see your cursor as a straight vertical
line. Hold down Format
and select Table Info.
You will see three menus, Table, Row, and Cell.
Click on Table. You
will see the table properties appear.
You can change the:
- Alignment
from
Left to Center or from Center to Right
- Table
Width
by clicking on the box next to it and deleting the checkmark
- Equal
Columns Widths
by checking on the box next to it.
Then, you will have unspecified widths of a cell.
- Table
Color
by clicking in the box next to it.
The color wheel will appear.
Once
you have made your choices, click, "OK."
If
you want to edit the properties of a row, click on the Row tab
at the top of the dialogue box.
Adding
Color to a Row
Place
the mouse in a table cell.
Select
the Row Tab of the Table Info dialogue.
Check the box to the left of Color.
Double click on the box to the right of Color.
The
color wheel will appear.
Select
the color of your choice. I
selected green. Select, "OK."
To Align text in
a cell
The
Alignment pull-down button offers three choices for the current paragraph
or selection.
- Center
will center the current paragraph or selection
- Left
justifies the current paragraph or selection
- Right
justifies the current paragraph or selection
To delete a table.
Select Edit.
Under Edit select Table. Under
Edit, select Delete Table.
To
make a table transparent
Follow
the directions in the third column.
