Using Netscape Communicator 4.7


     
     

    Follow these Steps for a New Web Page
    Starting a new page using Netscape Communicator 4.7
    Open Netscape 4.7. 
    1. Find Netscape 4.7 under Macintosh Hard Drive in the first column of your finder.
    2. Select Application (OS 9)
    3. Click on Netscape Communicator, the folder under the MiClimb folder.
    4. Open Netscape by clicking on the Netscape icon in the third column of your finder.
    Under File, Click  on New Blank Page.
    On the new blank page type this:
  • Type a title on your new blank page.
  • Highlight the title.  Select the alignment tool and center the title.
  • Hit "return".
  • Select the left alignment to continue typing.

  • Opening Composer and an Existing Page that is posted to the Web:
     
  • Visit  your existing page, using  its URL:  
  • http://www.ehhs.cmich.edu/~username/nameofpage.html
    1. Click on the page.
    2. Under File, click on "Edit Page".
    3. Under File, select "Save As"
    4. Find your Guest folder or Zip Disk or Flash Drive.
    5. Select "New Folder".  
    6. Type an alphabet letter or a number for the name of the folder. Always create a new folder after making changes to your existing html plage.
    7. Save your page using the same name under which it is posted.
    8. Make your additions or deletions to the page.
    9. Under File, select "Save As".
    10. Upload your  changes by:
      1. Selecting Finder
      2. Open Fetch.
      3. Find your new folder.
      4. Click on your new folder to open it.
      5. Click on Fetch.
      6. Upload your page by dragging all files to Fetch.
      7. View your changes in Internet Explorer.  
      8. Be sure to select Refresh to see the changes.
     
    Open an Existing File that is not uploaded to the Web.
     
    1. Click on File.
    2. Click on Open Page.
    3. Use Choose File.
    4. Find your file.
    5. Click Open.
