Today we are going to view a video of Jamestown so that you can get a better understanding of the setting and people who lived in Jamestown.Mode of Instruction: Video, Inquiry, Discussion
Learning Objective: Students will re-create the setting at Jamestown.
Benefits of the Objective: Students will have a better understanding of what Jamestown looked like.
Hands-on-activity:
Drawing and discussing
1. Show the students a clip of Pocahontas. Tell them to look for how the charactares are dressed and also what Jamestown looked like because they will have to re-create some elements of Jamestown.
2. After movie clip, ask students to draw pictures of what Jamestown looked like and also what style of clothing the people wore.
3. After drawings are done, have the students show their picture and explain to the group.
