Find, read, and critique two articles.

1.  The two articles should be about copyright laws and the implication of those laws for the classroom teacher.
Examples of titles are:
(a) The Educators' Guide to Copyright and Fair Use
(b) Intellectual Property in Computer Programs


2.  Write one (1) paper to critique both articles by responding to the following steps.

a) In the same paper, write a summary of each article in two to three paragraphs.  What were the main points?  (15 points)
b) Describe the information in the articles that will influence you the most when using technology in the K-12 classroom.  (10 points)
c) In the same paper, describe how Article A is similar to Article B. (10)
d) In the same paper, tell how Article B is different from Article A. (10)
e) Provide complete reference citations, using name of author, date of publication, name article, name of journal, page numbers. (5 points)
f) Please do not write two separate critiques.  Write only one critique for two articles using the instructions under Item 2 a through e.

Example:  Newby, Diane et. al.  (2003).  Using the equity toolkit in pk-16 to address equity in the classroom.  International Journal of Diversity in Organisations, Communities and Nations: Cultural Diversity in a Globalasing World 3rd International Annual Conference Proceedings.? 4. Spelling and grammar errors count a deduction of five points each. Remember late assignments are reduced by 30 percent each class.
5. Include your name on your assignment.
6. Forward this assignment to me through your digital drop box.  Save your document as:  lastnamereadingcritique.doc  (your lastname readingcritique.doc  all lowercase and no spaces).
7. Use electronic databases, online readings, and/or electronic journals to locate your articles.
8. Do not make a copy of the two articles for the professor.
9. Click on CMU Libraries to access an electronic database.
