My U.S. Rep: Mellisa Bean

I've just moved to Illinois from my home state of Michigan. And while I traded two awesome, right-on, liberal U.S. Senators, Stabenow and Levin, for two awesome, right-on, liberal U.S. Senators, Durbin and Obama, I thought I was really making a gain by trading Tom DeLay fuckbuddy and Dow Chemical errand boy Dave Camp for some Democrat by the name of Melissa Bean. Well, it turns out she is a "Lieberman." She just this week voted with the Republicans in the house on CAFTA, one of only a handful of Dems to do so. Nice, huh? Well, it doesn't end there. Apparently she also voted for the bankruptcy bill, for bringing the Schiavo case to federal jurisdiction, and for ending the estate tax.

You can check out her voting record here.

The good news is she will be up for re-election in November of 2006. I just hope the Democratic Party runs someone against her in the primaries. Because she is OBVIOUSLY NOT A DEMOCRAT!

PS: I wrote her an email expressing my disgust and got a form letter back clearly indicating that my letter had not been read. How lame.

Thanks to Sport from shirtssogood.com for this illustration. Can I get it on a shirt?

The Lost Generation

Here is a great article on some of my favorite music of the 1990's. Reading it really took me back.

Say Sayonara to Abortion?

In his latest editorial, patriotic cartoonist and editorialist Ted Rall thinks we should get ready to do just that. He's probably right. But it might also, he suggests, have some positive side-effects.
