Paula Kamen: How "Iris Chang" Became a Verb

As a history minor, I find the effect of historical research on poor Iris Chang both intriguing and impossibly sad. History often involves very, very sad stories. How do historians avoid getting sucked into the sort of depression that seems to have destroyed Chang? It's really a wonder this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.
