Associated Press: Ranks of Poverty, Uninsured Rose in 2003

According to the Census Bureau, the number of Americans living below the poverty line jumped by 1.3 million last year, and the number of those living without insurance rose by 1.4 million. This is the third straight year that these figures have increased. Even worse is the fact that children were hit exceptionally hard by the rise in poverty (800,000 more were impoverished in 2003 than in the previous year).

I wonder if this is why Bush has stopped touting the robust economy (snicker).

But hey, who cares about that? Was Kerry really under fire thirty five years ago when he pulled Jim Rassman out of the river? Or wasn't he?
