Dateline Mount Pleasant!

I don't get out of Mount Pleasant much, so this only really applies to my little burg. I.e., your mileage may vary. But I have been seeing more and more Kerry stickers on cars around town. Lots, really. As of today, I have seen exactly TWO Bush-Cheney stickers (remember, I am a runner, so I have a lot of time to take note of such things). And the second one said "W '04," which was, frankly, so subtle as to barely count. But I guess you'd wanna be kinda coy about supporting these guys at this point.

And I think that's WHY I'm not seeing a lot of Bush stickers around town. It's becoming more and more apparent that conservatives, particularly of the neo-con variety, and Republicans are abhorent to a still growing majority of people. Being a Republican, and supporting Bush-Cheney, are fast becoming a person's dirty little secret, their private shame. As well it should be. ;)

Tomorrow I meet with the Kerry campaign to talk about working in the Mount Pleasant Dems office. I can't wait. And apparently it's necessary. Michigan, formerly thought to be a gimme state for Kerry, is looking far closer than it has any business being. I am PROUD of my state, and I thought we were smarter than that. We are a BLUE state, dammit. There is NO WAY those crooks are taking MY state. This is the home of Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow and Jennifer Granholm. We don't vote red here. Dammit.

Though on the bright side, I really like that my vote will count this time. It makes it more fun. :)
