CBS News: Poll: Voters See A Great Divide
In a recent CBS News poll:
- Today, 70 percent of Americans see important differences between the parties
- Just 43 percent of Americans think that the Republican Party has a clear plan for the country - a four point drop since November 2002
- By contrast, 36 percent of Americans feel that the Democratic Party has a clear plan for the country - a six point increase since November 2002
- Fifty-four percent of Americans have a favorable image of the Democratic Party, compared to just 49 percent who feel the same way about the Republican Party.
- Fifty-one percent of independent voters find the Democratic Party favorable, while just 46 percent favor the Republican Party
The lesson here? People clearly recognize the differences between the two parties right now (someone please inform Ralph Nader), and they have voiced their preference for the Democratic Party. It's like I always say, the more people truly learn about the Bush administration and the GOP agenda, the less they'll approve.
