Hello Grand Rapids!
So I saw Sloan last night in GR. And I'll wager that the only reason that Sloan booked this particular gig was because of their 2002 visit to the old Intersection. What a night that was! So Sloan must be asking themselves, "Where were you, Grand Rapids?" Good question. But despite the anemic turnout, the guys took advantage of the new Intersection's amenities and really put on a great show for the faithful. And that's who DID show up: the faithful. Those who were there seemed to be die-hards, and they were treated to a spectacular gig, man. Much tighter than the Bowling Green show two weeks back. They are on top of their game right now.
Also, the opening band, The Kicks, were terrific. Love em.
Since it was an early show (that ran an hour late), we were back in the fertile land of Mount Pleasant by 11:45PM. And since we had such a good time (and Allan was a bit ripped), we continued on to the Bird for several rounds of tasty Coronas (the beer of the month). Closing that place down we called it a night with one last playing of "Backstabbin'" on the ride home.
SLOOOO-OOOOAN!
PS: Pictures to follow.
