An essay written in December, 1999; my senior year in high school. It describes my "outstanding characteristics," how I acquired them, and how they would help me in college. I received a full tuition scholarship to Central Michigan University based upon this paper, as well as academic achievement, community service, and an interview.

This was my Practical Project for Honors 130, Western Culture and Intellectual Traditions, written in November, 2000. I chose to do a creative writing piece presenting a modern-day interpretation of the Greco-Roman Epicurean and Stoic lifestyles. I earned an A on this paper and in the course.

I wrote this paper in April, 2001, as my Practical Project for the second half of Western Culture. I wrote about some of the history of children's literature, especially fairy tales, authors, common motifs, and the development of different kinds of children's books. I earned an A on this paper as well as in the course.

This paper was written that I might receive honors credit in my Children's Literature class in April 2002. The professor and I selected five children's fantasy books, all of which had female protagonists. In this essay, I discussed how the protagonist of each book evolved and described a few parallels among the plot and characters. The books chosen were as follows: The Gammage Cup (Kendall), A Wrinkle in Time (L'Engle), Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH (O'Brien), The Hero and the Crown (McKinley), and Poppy (Avi).

Title: Using Incremental Rehearsal to Teach Sight-Words to Adults with Moderate Cognitive Impairment. I wrote the introduction to this article for my professor, Dr. Burns in June 2003 to earn honors credit in his course. This article has recently been accepted by the Journal of Evidence Based Practices for Schools and was published in the Spring 2005 (volume 6, number 2) issue.
