| Game Central Station provides a variety of resources for physical education instruction. Hundreds of games for children are included with a searchable database. Teachers can comment about the games and submit their own. Site also provides links to lesson plans. |
| G.A.M.E. T.I.M.E. was developed by a physical education specialist from Slippery Rock University. The site provides lesson plans for a variety of physical activities for elementary children, including basic locomotor skill games and specific sports such as soccer, basketball and football. Each lesson includes a diagram of the activity and a self-assessment for students. |
| Games Kids Play contains a selection of games, many of which require physical activity. Included with each game is a description and rules. Games can be searched by keyword or viewed by category or title. Also, one can submit questions regarding any games to the site and have them answered. One downfall of the site is very obtrusive advertising. |
| Dancing for Busy People offers "Square dances, mixers, contra dances, line dances, books, articles, and references for dance and recreation leaders, school teachers, college professors, church activities directors, camp leaders, etc." Useful resources for teachers include a list of recommended basic square dance steps with a recommended teaching order and explanations of square dance terminology. The best part of the site are the calling directions for many types of dances, including squares, quadrilles, contras, trios, Sicilian circles, round dance mixers, and no partner dances (including line dances). The links to the calling directions can be hard to find, you need to scroll down the page to find them. |
| Great Game List provides a variety of physical education lesson plans that include general aerobic activities and specific skill games with instructions. The site markets its own equipment with the games but other equipment may be substituted. |
| Integration Strategies for Fitness provides ideas for integrating physical fitness strategies into other content areas, including Math, Social Studies, Science, Visual Arts, etc. For example, in the Language Arts section students are directed to books that have physical fitness as a theme, and are encouraged to use books as weights in upper body strengthening activities. |
| Jeff Pill's Online Drills soccer site describes drills that can be done as part of a soccer program or unit. Diagrams are provided with each of the drills. Also, it includes some information on preparing a team and individuals for a season. |
| Jumpin "Jax" Russel.com is about exercise and fitness. It has an animated exercise video section that can be used by individuals or classes. Found in the Daily Dozen section, these video clips may take a little while to load, but seem to play well. Links to other physical fitness sites also included. |
| Jump Into A Healthy Life is dedicated to teaching jump rope as a fun way of staying healthy. The Jump Rope Skills section which is divided into three levels is especially helpful for teaching a progression of skills. Puzzles, quizzes, links to other jump sites, and a works cited section are also included. This site may lack in "bells and whistles", but the information and pictures should be useful to any teacher who wants to do a unit on jumping rope. |
| Let's Get Moving! This physical education unit integrates math, health, and sports. Students learn about different forms of exercise and compare their choices with those of other students around the country. |
| Model Unit: Sports: This 8th-grade curriculum unit uses sports-related problems to engage students in mathematics. Problems involve sports scoring systems ("How many field goals were there?"); player positioning ("How many starting lineups are possible?"); tournament planning ("How many games are needed to determine a winner?"); local team statistics ("What percentage of teams in the league had no losses?"); participation statistics ("In which age groups do more than one half of the adults participate in a sport?"); attendance figures ("How much did game attendance increase this year?"); area ("What is the area of the archery targe?"); and slope ("What is the ski run's slope?"). Because the unit is geared to Canadian students, it uses sports like hockey and curling but American teachers can revise the problems for their own students. |

Teachers and coaches may wish to pay special attention to the animated lessons that are presented at three levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) for each of the following sports: baseball, basketball, bowling, golf, inline skating, soccer, and tennis. |
| PE In The Snow contains physical education lesson plans that can be done in the snow. "These lesson plans are designed to give children an opportunity to explore the outdoors during the winter on snowshoes. Participants move through the wilderness (or school grounds) developing coordination, balance, cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. A snowshoe adventure can be tailor made to benefit everyone, from the physically challenged student to the athletically gifted. | You Be The Coach is a two-day lesson for grades 7-12. In this lesson students work in groups to study a sport that interests the group. "Then, students discuss reasons why sports, athletics or physical activities should be an important part of teens' lives." |
