COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will gain basic knowledge of how to read,
write, and perform music. Students will develop good habits in singing,
rehearsal techniques and sight singing skills. A variety of unison, 2 part
melody and 2 part music will be introduced including folk songs, music of
various genres and cultures, as well as more recent selections.
Class instruction will include rehearsal of both sheet
music and other materials with the objective of performing some of the music
for an audience. Students will utilize technology in assisting students
in learning basic theory, accompanying, and arranging of music for use in
rehearsal and performance.
